SENSORY STORYTIMES AT OCEANSIDE PUBLIC LIBRARY
Oceanside Public Library is hosting a series of free sensory story times on January 14, January 21 and January 28, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at the Civic Center Library, 330 North Coast Highway. The Library invites children of all ages and abilities and their caregivers to participate. Sensory story times are designed for young children on the Autism Spectrum, but are also inclusive and welcoming for all children. Sensory story times include movement, music, props, an interactive book and a sensory activity. This event is open for children of all ages and their families. Dog Man Police Academy at the Oceanside Public Library
Oceanside Public Library presents Dog Man Police Academy Saturday, January 25, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at the Civic Center Library, 330 N. Coast Highway. This engaging event is themed around the popular children’s book series Dog Man by Dav Pilkey. Families are invited to view a special performance by the Oceanside Police Department’s K9 Unit and participate in a Dog Man police academy obstacle course to earn a badge. Attendees can also create a comic book flip-book, design a Dog Man mask, and mix their own “dog chow.” Children of all ages are welcome.
This free program is for kids of all ages, and is sponsored by Set Up to Succeed and the Friends of the Oceanside Public Library. Set Up to Succeed is an Oceanside Public Library partnership with Oceanside Unified School District to ensure that all students in grades K-12 have access to books and all that the Library has to offer, in order to set them up to succeed in their academic and life pursuits.
