July, 2016, the SANDAG Board of Directors approved the release of the Draft 2016 Regional Transportation Improvement Program (RTIP), including its air quality conformity analysis and the draft air quality conformity redetermination of San Diego Forward: The Regional Plan for a 30-day public comment period. The Draft 2016 RTIP and its air quality conformity analysis can be accessed at the Draft 2016 RTIP page or via the Draft 2016 RTIP Public Notice page.
The RTIP is a multi-billion dollar, multi-year program of proposed projects for major transportation projects in the San Diego Region covering a five year period from Fiscal Year 2017 to Fiscal Year 2021. Transportation projects funded with federal, state, and TransNet (the San Diego transportation sales tax program) funds must be included in an approved RTIP.
SANDAG is seeking public review and comment on the draft document through August 22, 2016. Written comments on the Draft 2016 RTIP and conformity analyses will be accepted via letter, fax, or email. Public comments are welcome during the scheduled Public Hearing at the SANDAG Transportation Committee meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. on Friday, September 2, 2016, at 401 B Street, 7th Floor Board Room, San Diego, CA 92101.
The SANDAG Board of Directors is anticipated to approve the 2016 RTIP at their meeting on Friday, September 23, 2016.
