By   /  February 17, 2020  /  No Comments

All Saints’ Episcopal Church will be providing a new service for this year’s Ash Wednesday observances on February 26 – “Ashes to go.”

In addition to the regular imposition of ashes in church services at 12:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. in All Saints’ Episcopal Church, 651 Eucalyptus Avenue, Vista, drivers can pass through the church parking lot from 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to receive the ashes.

Ashes may be imposed upon the heads of participants in the Ash Wednesday services as a sign of mortality and penitence.  The imposition of ashes has been practiced on Ash Wednesday since the ninth century.
