Nicole: I’ve been working out and eating healthy, literally doing all the right things. My clothes fit better and I’ve gone down 2 sizes, but why do I never seem to be able to lose weight??
Megan: The scale truly isn’t the ultimate and only measure of progress. Your body is re-shaping and the composition is changing. You are building muscle and toning is great. As a female, hormones can also affect the scale due to water retention and possible imbalances that may be slowing your metabolism. Having a physical and having your thyroid checked is important. Stress doesn’t help either. Water retention can also occur from certain medications. Will you ever truly be happy with any number the scale says? Probably not. I think losing 2 sizes is amazing, so give yourself some credit and keep on your healthy path inside and out.
