Jasmine: Why do people say red meat is so bad for you??

Megan: Red meat gets a bad reputation mainly because it impact your cardiovascular health. This is because some red meats are high in saturated fat which is the time that can raise your cholesterol (the bad kind LDL). This increases the risk for heart disease. That is not to say this it is all bad. Red meat is high in iron and vitamin B12. Compared to other protein sources, it should be eaten in moderation. For a person with high cholesterol which could be from genetics, red meat consumption should be minimal.

All in all, it’s a sometimes food. If you have a question for Megan, email her at everybodysfit@gmail.com and be sure to check out her website www.everybodysfitoceanside.com
