Lexie: My face gets so red when I work out. Why does that happen and how can I help it not happen??
Megan: When we exercise, blood flow increases and so does our body temperature. Blood is brought towards the surface of our skin and we start to sweat to be able to cool down. Having a red face while exercising is a normal phenomenon of your body doing its job for you. There is no way to prevent this from happening but you can make sure you stay hydrated and exercise in a cooler environment to avoid getting so hot. Wearing breathable loose fitting clothes helps too. Don’t worry your body is doing what it is supposed to and being fair skinned sometimes let’s that blood to the face show a little bit more.
