Silvia: I like to get Botox done every so often and every time I go it seems like I can’t workout for a while after, or at least they say not to. It bugs me because I hate skipping, workouts, so how long should you wait after Botox to exercise?
Megan: Of course my answer has to be what your doctor advises or recommends, especially considering doses vary and side effects are different for people. Generally at the very least you have to wait 4 hours and it’s important to avoid bending or leaning over to add pressure to the areas. 24 hours is the standard to wait and some do suggest longer to let the botox settle in and work a little before adding external stressors. You also have to consider the type and intensity of your exercise. If you don’t want to skip, at least wait 4 hours and go for a lighter version of exercise like walking or jogging to be careful and safe for the time being.
