Marie Waldron, State Assemblymember — This week my colleagues and I sent a letter to Governor Newsom calling on him to propose a budget that makes smart investments in California’s future.
In the letter we call for a state budget that addresses California’s affordability and supply chain crises, fully funds public safety to stop rising crime, puts parents back in charge of their children’s educations, updates state highways and infrastructure, invests in wildfire prevention in rural areas like ours, and provides permanent tax relief for hard-working Californians.
With his upcoming budget proposal the Governor must choose between business-as-usual, which will continue forcing taxpayers to spend more for less, and a reform budget which will help foster a safe and affordable California for all!
With a projected budget surplus of $31 Billion, it is critical that this year’s budget puts the concerns of everyday Californians first!
