Marie Waldron, State Assemblymember –California is becoming even more expensive. The legislative session ended in Sacramento last Friday. Unfortunately, several bills were passed that could make our phone bills, lawn care, and driving more expensive.
California continues to be one of the most unaffordable states in the nation trailing only slightly behind Hawaii and DC. California has the highest sales tax, income tax, and gas tax among all 50 states. The Golden State also saw its median home price surpass $800,000 in April of this year.
As our cost of living continues to rise, many Californians and businesses are fleeing the state. Despite this trend, some in Sacramento continue to push new taxes and policies that exacerbate this problem.
It’s time to reverse direction and fight to ensure that our working families can continue to call California home. As your Representative, I pledge to advocate for lower taxes and financial responsibility in the Assembly.
