State Assemblymember  Marie Waldron –California has more homeless people than any other state in the nation. From 2018 to 2019, our homeless population increased by 16%, bringing the total number of homeless individuals to 151,000.

California deserves better. As your Representative in Sacramento, I will continue to combat the homeless crisis and find solutions that will safely help get people off the streets.

I am a proud co-author of SB 855 which requires coverage for medically necessary treatment of mental health and substance use disorders under the same terms and conditions applied to other physical medical conditions.

By lowering the cost of living, helping individuals find jobs, and providing critical mental health services and housing, we can prevent more people from becoming homeless and assist those already experiencing this crisis.

To learn more about what the state is doing to support homeless individuals, visit the California Department of Social Services.
