Marie Waldron, State Assemblymember
One of my top priorities as your Representative is promoting public safety. This past legislative session, I had the opportunity to support three bills that will continue to protect public safety and improve our prospering district.

Assembly Bill 262 (AB 262) allows victims of human trafficking who committed crimes due to their situation to have their arrest record sealed and conviction vacated. This bill will ensure that victims of human trafficking are able to start a new life without the negative impacts of a public arrest record.

Assembly Bill 419 (AB 419) ensures attorneys can’t release identifying information of a victim or witness of a crime, such as physical address and phone numbers, to a criminal defendant. This will help protect the privacy of victims, witnesses, and their families during criminal proceedings.

Assembly Bill 644 (AB 644) incentivizes persons on parole to participate in medically assisted treatment for drug addiction. This program will provide tools for parolees’ re-entry into society, creating a safer community and saving lives!

If you would like to learn more about these issues or share your perspective, please visit my website here. It is an honor to represent you in the California State Assembly!

Sincerely,
Marie Waldron
