Virtual family backyard camp out, Sept. 5
Set up a tent in your living room or backyard on Saturday Sept. 5 for a community family backyard campout! We’ll provide the campfire recipes and entertainment! Dig into s’more ways to make s’mores, try out some easy, mess-free campfire dinner recipes and create a cool craft with the kiddos! Once you’re settled in, top off the night with an exciting video all about the nighttime critters of Carlsbad and a virtual hike around Lake Calavera Preserve.

Ecological Adventures Camp Leo Carrillo Ranch Historic ParkMonday – Friday, 3 – 5 p.m.Four sessions: Sept. 8 – 11, Sept. 14 – 18Ages 7 – 15 yrs This new fall week long camp is designed to support families by getting kids active and outdoors after spending a long day in the virtual classroom. Supervised activities include hikes, nature walks, environmental projects, exploration and live animals in the beautiful and tranquil setting of Leo Carrillo Ranch!
Club PeacockLeo Carrillo Ranch Historic ParkMonday – Friday, 3 – 5 p.m.Two sessions: Sept. 14 – 18, Sept. 21 – 25Ages 7 – 12 yrs Parks & Recreation and the Cultural Arts Office have teamed up to offer a fall camp! This camp will encourage campers to think like artists as they explore different art making techniques while learning why Leo Carrillo Ranch is such a special place in Carlsbad.
Advanced Sewing ClassLeo Carrillo Ranch Historic ParkTuesday, 3:30 – 4:45 p.m.Two sessions: Sept. 15 – Oct. 27, Nov. 3 – Dec. 15Ages 10 – 16 yrs This 75-minute class is designed for students who already know how to sew, both by hand and with a sewing machine. Students must have previously taken a class with Audrey Oberman at Leo Carrillo. Students can review the basics by completing a series of smaller projects.
