Recreation’s Summer Day Camps Extended

Recreation has extended its Summer Day Camps to coincide with Vista Unified School District’s calendar of resuming instruction in September.  Weekly camps are now available through September 4. Day camps are open to youngsters in grades K-8.

County COVID-19 Cases I Six in 10 Face Severe Impacts of COVID-19

As of August 2, San Diego County reports 29,883 positive COVID-19 cases with 737 of those in Vista. Six out of every 10 adult San Diegans are at extra risk for severe illness should they contract COVID-19 due to pre-existing medical conditions. Help stop the spread of the coronavirus by covering your face, physically distancing, washing hands, avoiding gatherings and crowds, and not going out if you are sick.

COVID-19 Testing Not Required for those Returning to Work 

Based on new guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, County public health officials report it is no longer recommended that employers require employees who tested positive for COVID-19 to be tested again before they can return to work.

Keeping Seniors Healthy With Nutritional Meals 

Since the beginning of the public health crisis, the McClellan Senior Center’s meal program has provided 12,666 nutritional meals to the community. The new Weekend Meal program added an additional 80 customers to those receiving healthy lunches and dinners. The Center’s staff are working to ensure those who are shut in or staying home still have access to nutritious meals throughout the day.
