Attend a socially distanced mosaic-building session
Oceanside, CA. – MainStreet Oceanside is pleased to announce that work on the Ocean Glass Mosaic Mural, the fourth mural of the Art That Excites program, has continued despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Local stained glass artist and muralist Don Myers is now inviting the community back into his workshop at 1025 S. Coast Highway to help complete the mural panels. This will be done in socially distanced volunteer mosaic-building sessions starting October 1. Participants can make a reservation with Don Myers Thursday – Tuesday by calling 760-439-6200 and should be prepared to follow COVID-19 guidelines.
In addition to or as an alternative to helping assemble the glass panels, community members can sponsor a fish to honor family, loved ones or accomplishments. MainStreet Oceanside invites individuals to visit, by appointment only, the office at 701 Mission Avenue to see the full color artist rendering of the mural. Please call 760-754-4512 to make an appointment or to inquire about available sponsorships. Visit www.MainStreetOceanside.com/Artthatexcites for more information about Art that Excites.
Measuring 16 feet tall by 12 feet wide, the completed mosaic mural will be installed on the corner of Mission Avenue and Ditmar Street across from the MainStreet Oceanside office in the Oceanside California Cultural District
Sponsor the Ocean Glass Mosaic Mural
The assembled 12-by-16-foot glass mosaic mural will depict a unique and diverse community of local sea life as it resides just off our beaches below the surface of the Pacific Ocean. Sponsorships are available for Oceanside residents and businesses to be part of the installed mural and vary based on sea life size and type, starting at $100 up to $7,500.
