The department announced about 1:30 a.m. that the child’s parents had been located and that additional information would be released later in the morning.
“We want to thank @sanmarcoscity residents and countless others for their concern and prayers,” the department said on Twitter.
Do you recognize the toddler in these photos? She was found wandering in a San Marcos apartment complex and deputies are now trying to reunite the little girl with her family.
Tonight around 6:00 p.m., deputies from the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station were called to the Barham Villas Apartments located in the 500 block of E. Barham Drive. When they arrived, residents told deputies they found a toddler wandering in the basketball courtyard within the complex. She was
only wearing a diaper. A resident provided the clothes the child is wearing to keep her warm.
Deputies and residents went door to door looking for the child’s family. The apartment complex management sent out an email to all residents about the little girl that had been found.
Announcements were also made by Sheriff’s ASTREA (helicopter) in the neighborhood. The Sheriff’s Department also got the word out on social media.
So far, the child’s family has not been found. There are also no reports of a missing child with any other local law enforcement agency. The toddler was taken to the San Marcos Sheriff’s Station. Child Welfare Services has also been contacted. The toddler is believed to be between one and two years
old. If you know who this child is or know her family, we want to hear from you.
