“It’s hard to beat a person who never gives up.” – Babe Ruth
If you’re old enough, you probably remember the Bozo punching bags that would pop right up after you give it a wallop. When I was a kid I would give my Bozo bag a thrashing, and every time it would bounce back up with Bozo giving me that goofy smile of his. So, I’d punch it again… the same result!
Now that I’m (much) older, I have grown to appreciate that Bozo-esque quality, and I admire it in others. So, friends, I ask you… with all due respect… who wants to be a Bozo!
As Winston Churchill said in a speech to the boys at Harrow School on 29 October 1941… “Never, never, never give up.”
If you’re not old enough, you’re probably wondering who Bozo is!
Steak Night .. Last week’s Cook Your Own Steak was the biggest we have had in a long time! And we received many wonderful comments about it being in the RV park.
Kudos to our many Lodge tradesmen who have been working hard for months on our RV Park cooking and bar area. And kudos to our F&B staff and volunteers who made the event possible.
Friday Nights Are Awesome! .. If you haven’t been to our Friday dinners under the lights, you’ve missed out! The ambiance is wonderful and the music has been extremely well received.
This Friday, we welcome back the Michael Moaze Duo. They were so enjoyed, people were taking videos!
Be sure to call the office for Friday night dinner reservations. Call 760-724-1968.
Volunteers…Now that we’re up and running as a Lodge, the need for volunteers is greater than ever. As you can expect, being closed as much as we have been over the past year, and the unexpected nature of COVID has greatly diminished our numbers of volunteers.
We’re making a concerted effort to increase the number of volunteers because the Lodge can’t run without them. We need your help!
If you’d like to know what types of areas are available to volunteer, click here or go to vistaelks.org/volunteer for more information.
Have a great week!
