Carlsbad, CA — The League of Women Voters of North County San Diego, LWVSD, Civic Learning Partnership of San Diego and the San Diego County Bar Association will be hosting a “Judge the Judges” informational panel discussion on the Judiciary on Thursday, January 23, 2020 from 6:00-7:30 p.m. at El Camino Creek Elementary School, 7885 Paseo Aliso, Carlsbad, CA 92009 in the Multi-Purpose Room. Voters often wonder: how qualified is this judge? Why are some judges appointed and others elected? What can I do to be better informed about judicial candidates? The panel will answer these and other questions during their presentations and the question/answer session afterwards. Additionally, voter registration will be available. The event is free and the public is urged to attend. For further information contact Anne Omsted at 760 736-1608.
The League of Women Voters encourages informed and active participation in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Public entities frequently request the League as a non-partisan organization to supervise elections and public forums based on its 100-year history of providing non-partisan voter services and advocacy. The League, in addition to forums, explains ballot measures at its Pros and Cons events and provides written information on ballot measures at VotersEdge.org. Interested parties may contact President Anne Omsted at 760 736-1608.
