Vista, CA –Dear Boys & Girls Club of Vista Friends, Partners, and Stakeholders,
Thank you for your continued support during this difficult time facing our community. In light of recent developments, we want to update you on how our Club is responding to the needs in our community with the health and wellness of our Club members and their families being our top priority. As of Monday, March 16 we have closed all regular programming.
We continue to partner with Vista Unified School District for food distribution. So far this week, we have provided over 2,100 grab and go breakfasts and lunches for children under 18 in our community and the need continues to grow every day.
Moving forward today until the shelter in place order has lifted, we will keep a small staff of 5 to ensure the current level of operations continues and we are able to return to regular programming serving the youth in our community as soon as possible. Our Board of Directors has committed to continuing the medical benefits of all full-time staff members who will be furloughed during this time and will convene every two weeks in order to respond to the rapidly changing needs of our community.
At the Boys & Girls Club of Vista, we are grateful for each of you and your continued outpouring of support. We are making these decisions with the understanding that it is important for our community to have the Boys & Girls Club of Vista return to our full services as soon as we are needed. If you are able to help, please consider donating to support our efforts as we work through these challenges and find ways to continue supporting our community until we re-open.We will be regularly updating our Social Media to keep our Club Families up to date with the latest news about the Club and to share resources so that our Members still feel connected. If you have any questions, please call 760-724-6606 ext. 10.
In Service to Youth,
President & CEO
