OCEANSIDE – Lightning and rain in Oceanside led officials to suspend a Section 6 All-Star game between the Rancho Buena Vista 9- and 10-year-old All-Stars and Point Loma on Saturday.
The game took the pause tied 6-6 in the top of the 6th inning, and, it will resume Sunday (today) at 1 p.m at Ron Ortega Recreation Park — unless it rains. There’s a 47 percent chance it will.

“We will play it by ear,” District 70 umpire-in-charge Chris Rutz said. “We will do what Mother Nature dictates to us.”
Point Loma scored two runs in the top of the sixth inning to tie the score. And — according to Little League tournament rules — the game must be played out to the end. It will pick up where it left off; there’s no reverting back to a prior inning.
The winner of the game advances to play Encinitas National on the same field later in the day (3 p.m.). Encinitas will take home the Section 6 banner with a win. If ENLL loses, the two teams will play a final game Monday for the section title. Section 6 (9-10) Bracket
