I’m still fighting for North County at SANDAG.
The residents of San Diego County are 11 years into a 40 year tax for roads that were promised, but never constructed.
As we continue to sit in traffic, paying numerous taxes, not getting the promised projects delivered, San Diego is getting bicycle lanes at the cost of $5 million per mile.
So far, SANDAG has spent $123 million on the Regional Bike Plan and only completed 8.8 miles. Meanwhile we still need funding for 52, 67, 78 and 125 freeways.
Choosing bike lanes over roads and freeways is a decision for people to feel good about and not about doing the right thing.
Teacher of the Year — Congratulations to Nicole Miller who is one of five San Diego County teachers to receive the Teacher of the Year award!
For the past 15 years, Nicole has taught Social Science courses, ranging from 9th grade World History to 12th Grade Advanced Placement United States Government at Mission Hills High School. Thank you for all that you do!
Palomar Mountain Community Sponsor Group
A successful community isn’t led by the government, but rather the people. The residents of Palomar Mountain have made multiple requests to establish a sponsor group for their community. I’m happy to announce that earlier this week we established the Palomar Mountain Community Sponsor Group. If you are interested in serving on this board, please contact Ben Mills at, [email protected].
Much-Needed Rain — Sand and bags, or bags alone, are available for unincorporated residents at fire stations.
Bring a shovel to fill your bags and call ahead to double-check availability. Some stations may have a limited supply.
