Today was our first Board of Supervisors meeting of 2021.I wanted to update you on the topics that were discussed and what our next steps are moving forward.
Vaccine Rollout Update
We must get the COVID-19 vaccine to San Diegans! To me, this is the most important task in San Diego County.
Today, I asked our County Health Officials, to create a button, easy to find on a website, that allows people to sign up, fill in their information and receive a notification of what tier they are in, and request a notification of when the vaccine is available to that tier, and where they can go to receive the vaccine.
No To Stricter Enforcement
Today, I voted against proactive enforcement against businesses because I believe all business sectors should have the opportunity to open and operate safely.
The action also includes restricting relief funds to businesses. These businesses are barely hanging on and not being able to receive funds will push them over the edge.
Standing Up Against Discrimination
When I see oppression, arbitrary closures, or discrimination against anyone, any organization, any business, any school, or any church, I will question it and call for change. No voices should be silenced.
