Vista, CA –It would be a value to let your readers (and everyone else) know that the Vista Farmers Market has not closed this year for any reason, and continues to be open every Saturday from 8 am to 12 noon at 325 South Melrose Drive, at the Courthouse. We are told that ten days ago we were the only farmers market in the county that was open.
The State of California has said that essential services MUST stay open, and the farmers markets are essential.
Here are some current reasons for supporting the farmers market:
1/ You can buy food outdoors in fresh air.
2/ We have plenty of social distancing room, having expanded our aisles from 14 feet wide to 25 feet.
3/ You are buying from the person, in most cases, that harvested the produce. Very few hands touched this fresh food.
4/ The food is made and grown locally. You are supporting a resilient food system, and local farmers.
5/ We have strong weekly supplies of farm-fresh goods. Let us be your pantry, each week you can get what you need.
