Woman’s Club Of Fallbrook Holds Mystery Play Fundraiser

Fallbrook, CA — The Woman’s Club of Fallbrook Mystery Play fundraiser was held Friday and Saturday at the club house in Fallbrook. The play “Who Killed Claudio Vanderbilk” written by Maxine Holmgren, adapted by the Carriage Players and directed by Lee Johnson.

Guests were greeted by Detective Inspector Sharla Holmes ( Roxann Clause) and each of the seven suspects were given a chance to clear their name. As each spoke about their relationship with Claudio and why they did not murder him. To help solve the murder on every table there were clues about the murder.

A wonderful lunch and dessert were served by the suspects and each one in attendance voted for the suspect hey thought committed he crime. Then came time for Inspector Holmes to announce who was charged with the murder.

The Fallbrook Woman’s Club was originally maned The Saturday Afternoon Club was founded on 1907 by a group of 15 women who came to Fallbrook from diverse backgrounds, but soon became united in spirit and action. In 1916 they bought a building suitable for a clubhouse.

During the World War I the club house was offered the the American Red Cross. The club sponsored the first Girl Scout Troop west of the Rockies. White Rose Troop 1. In 1919 the club founded the first public library in San Diego County which was housed in the clubhouse.

The club house is located at 238 West Mission Road in Fallbrook.
