Next month, the Board of Supervisors is looking at ending its zero-tolerance policy for illegal drug activity in County funded housing. This would allow those in County housing to use and deal drugs.
At our last Board meeting, I spoke about why I think this would be a terrible idea.
Illegal fentanyl is killing people at record rates and drug-use is at an all-time high. We need to help people get into treatment, not allow them to use more drugs.
Also, this would be detrimental to the safety of our neighborhoods and to those living in these housing units.
