David A. Willauer-Contributing Writer-San Pasqual High School-Escondido. CA-2-11-23: The Granite Hills Eagles won the 2023 CIF Division II Wrestling Title with 332.5 points along with 9 champions 

Jesse Sheard Granite Hills Head Wrestling Coach on his team’s performance:  “I was proud that the kids have worked hard throughout the season by traveling to tournaments while make sacrifices as for us as coaches take time away from their families to support our kids and their parents, that is how our team got it done tonight.”  ” Abram Cline at 108 pounds looks good throughout this tournament peaking at the right time for the next 2 weeks as I hope he does well at the Masters and CIF States in Bakersfield.” 

 We had an outstanding tournaments at both Reno and Buchanan as I told the kids it’s like getting in the middle of our season to help us get ready.” said Coach Sheard. 

” Collin McGuffey at 154 is a great kid to have in the wrestling room and makes our team by helping the other kids on what to do along putting in the extra hours in the wrestling room being kind the leader of the team even practice is 2 hours our the kids put extra time in if you want to become a state place winner or champion.” said Coach Sheard.

” Wrestling has improved a lot in East County as we work hard as coaches to motivate the kids to get better The Masters at Mission Hills will be a fun tournament where all of San Diego.  I told our kids are excited as I tell them to go our score points that is how you improve out there.” said Coach Sheard
