Debbie: I hate when I get sick and don’t know if I should workout or not. I wouldn’t spread my germs at the gym, but is it okay to workout still if you are sick even at home?
Megan: If you have a mild common cold with no fever, it is typically okay to still exercise. In fact, exercise might even help you feel better as you open your nasal passages for more air. Some congestion might be relieved. Don’t try anything above or beyond your normal routine and don’t exhaust yourself. You don’t have to stay sedentary when you are sick, but be mindful, listen to your body and take breaks as needed.
