
Hana: My grandma’s skin has become thinner and even if she bumps her arms on practically anything she bruises pretty bad. How can she make her thin skin thicker?
Megan: There is no scientific way to reverse thinning skin. However using retinols that have vitamin A can help. Drinking plenty water keeps the skin hydrated to help with irritation. A balanced diet is always recommended and this should include vitamin E with foods like avocado and almonds. This is a common condition and certain medications taken by the elderly population do make the skin thin quicker. Avoiding smoking is also important. We can’t stop aging but we can try to prevent its rapid progression.
