
Sondra: What’s the best non-meat protein source because I typically prefer a vegan type diet?
Megan: It is very important our body gets enough protein which is between 0.36 and 0.86 grams per pound body weight. If one were not to eat meat, other higher sources would be tofu, tempeh, edamame, soy milk, and soy beans. Some vegetables include spinach, Bok Choy, and broccoli. Keeping track of how much you are having can be done by reading nutrition labels and portioning according to your needs.
