Mel: What’s the difference between yoga and pilates?
Megan: Yoga embodies more of a lifestyle that incorporates the mind, body, and soul. Pilates is more about sculpting the body by elongated and engaging muscles. A pilates reformer can also be incorporated to add resistance. There are different variations and styles of both yoga and pilates, Yoga overall might have a more relaxed and meditative feeling whereas pilates might feel more strenuous. It depends on preference, level, and type and personal goals for participation. Some yoga can be heated and some pilates can be done on the floor, so again it just depends on type. The key difference is pilates not added in the mind/body portion.
