Melody: I’m a yoga lover and I always attend classes alone because my girlfriends want to lose weight and say yoga doesn’t help with that. Can yoga help you lose weight?
Megan: Yoga definitely stimulates blood flow and more active forms do have movements that boost your metabolism. Yoga can help improve digestion and can help target fat loss in certain areas of the body based upon performing specific poses. Plus, yoga can help with insomnia, mindfulness, and reduce stress/anxiety, all which are factors that contribute to weight gain. The purpose of yoga might not be directly for weight loss, but yes, yoga can help someone lose weight.
