Shirley: I’m getting back into exercising. How many days should I do cardio and how many days should I do weights? 

Megan: My best recommendation would be based upon if I knew what your goal was. However, in general, you can do cardio 3 to 4 days per week and strength training 2 to 3 days per week. It depends on what is called FITT. This includes the frequency, intensity, time and type. You can program them together or separately as well. My best advice is find something you enjoy, hire a professional for guidance and accountability, and focus on a plan that is sustainable towards lifestyle change.
