Maria: My carpal tunnel flares up and I have to keep working and meet deadlines despite the discomfort. How can I help alleviate carpal tunnel pain when it arises? 

Megan: If you are going to continue the repetitive movement ongoing for work, when carpal tunnel pain strikes, there are a few self care things you can try. You can rotate your wrists and fingers to relieve tension. Aspirin or ibuprofen can help. Take breaks as much as possible even if they are short. Adjust your diet to avoid sugar, gluten, and dairy which can exacerbate inflammation. A two week break from the movement is ideal, but these are temporary measures to help with the carpal tunnel pain.
