Marissa: I’m trying to eat healthy and I always hear that rice cakes can be a good snack when trying to lose weight. They seem so boring to me and why are they even considered a good snack??

Megan: Rice cakes may seem plain, and that’s because they’re low in calories and low in fat. They have a crunchy texture that replaces chips and other processed/junk foods people crave and turn to for snacks. Flavor can be added in a healthy manner by trying almond/peanut butter on them or having them with hummus or instead of bread. Healthy doesn’t have to be boring, but being open minded to trying new snacks to replace old ones that contributed to poor eating choices, is part of making healthy, sustainable, eating choices tailored to your goals.
