Sacramento. CA —
Every day, in communities across the country, people call on our nation’s police officers for help and every day, the men and women of law enforcement answer the call.
Unfortunately, far too often, the dangerous situations they bravely encounter lead to split-second decisions that have cost lives on both sides of the badge. That is why we recognize May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day, to honor the memory of those we have lost in service to their community.
During National Police Week, we thank police officers for their courage in every situation and we recommit ourselves to supporting their mission – keeping the people of California safe.
As your Representative, I always listen to those who are tasked with enforcing the laws we pass in the Capitol. Their input is invaluable to the work of passing laws that seek to extend our nation’s promises of safety, liberty, and justice for all. We must fully fund and equip our first responders with the best tools and training available so they can continue to protect our lives and our livelihoods.
Sincerely,Marie Waldron
