SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Rocky Chávez (R-Oceanside) announced today his reaction to President Obama’s address on immigration.
“While I am glad to see there will be some movement from the President on immigration, the President’s plan only covers a fraction of the issues that need to be addressed. His plan does not address all of the families affected by this broken system. We need true comprehensive reform and we need to address the economic, safety, and social issues our broken immigration system has created.”
“Both parties need to come together to get true reform and I am proud to stand with other Republicans who support comprehensive immigration reform.”
Rocky J. Chávez is a retired Marine Corps Colonel, former City Councilman and former Acting Secretary of the California Department of Veterans Affairs. He represents California’s 76th Assembly District, which includes Camp Pendleton, Carlsbad, Encinitas, Oceanside and Vista.
