Birds, Feathers, Nests, and Birdhouses “Kids In The Garden Class

Saturday, June 11, 2016 “Kids in the Garden” Class from 10 am to noon –  Birds, Feathers, Nests,  and Birdhouses

This month for our Kids in the Garden class we will have another fun day in  the Gardens and nature as we take a close look at our flying feathered  friends – Birds!  In our Garden habitat we have seen hummingbirds, scrub  jays, mockingbirds, hawks, crows, ducks, egrets, bluebirds, and roadrunners.
Farmer Jones will share her special collection of feathers and nests.  We  will have birdhouses available to assemble and paint for an extra $10 fee –  reservations are necessary!  ONLY ONE DOZEN ARE AVAILABLE.

Alta Vista Botanical Gardens is now in our eighth year of getting kids  outdoors to discover their environment, enjoy nature, dig into gardening,  learn about natural resources, and to share art and music.

Your registration for the class includes your visit to the Children’s  Garden: Ricardo Breceda’s “Serpent,” the Enchanted Garden Tube Tunnels, the  fantastic Children’s Music Garden, the Turtle and Dino Dig, and the  Incredible Edibles Garden.

Class fee is $5 per child for two hours of FUN and learning. Fees support  the development of the Alta Vista Children’s Garden. Adults will stay with  their children and pay the Garden entry fee of $5 per person.

When you join and buy a family membership in the Gardens, the monthly Kids  in the Garden class and adult entry is FREE for a year.  Membership forms  are available on the website Donations are gratefully accepted.
