What’s happening at the Club

K-Kids Community Service Our Club kids led several fundraisers this school year to help support a cause they believe in-the San Diego Humane Society. They also were able to help feed the guinea pigs…San Diego adoption rates of guinea pigs are now at an all-time high

Puppet Shows We had a special guest visitor at the main clubhouse, Claude Jones, author of the Astro the Monster Series. The book series teaches kids about the importance of leadership through acceptance and empathy, communication, and anti-bullying skills, as well as teamwork, accountability, and responsibility.
Our club members enjoyed an interactive read-a-loud with the author along his puppet, Astro the Monster! Social-emotional learning is an important component of Boys and Girls Club programming, and this book series is a great fit for our after-school enrichment.

Spanish Programs
Club members at the main site are participating in an introductory Spanish language program.

Egg ROLL-On
Our Club kids had a great time at the April Egg-ROLL hosted by the Vista Skatepark Coalition; they got to practice skating around the gym, participate in a race and even took home goodie bags for participating.
