Grow Your Garden
Carlsbad City Library’s Grow Your Garden program lets you swap succulents, seeds, fruit, vegetables and herbs from your garden with your neighbors and learn new gardening techniques.

A little about Sue Nessel
Sue Nessel has worked as a Nursery Professional with Armstrong Gardens for ten years. Today she nurtures over 100 roses in her garden and enjoys planting and harvesting numerous varieties of tomatoes and vegetables.
Overdrive/Libby Login Change
As of June 8, 2022, OverDrive/Libby will require library patrons to enter their Carlsbad Library PIN to access their account for eBooks and eAudiobooks. Your PIN is the same password that you use to sign into the Carlsbad Library catalog or self-check kiosks to access your account.
I do not know my PIN. How do I reset the PIN on my account?
To reset your PIN, click the My Account link on our website and click the Forgot PIN? link in blue. Enter your library card number and a PIN recovery link will be emailed to you. If you do not receive an email within a few minutes, please contact your nearest Carlsbad Library location via phone, chat, Ask Us, email, or in person to update your information.
Library’s Got Talent
Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m. Dove Library, Schulman Auditorium Grades 7 to 12
The Carlsbad City Library is looking for teens to participate in our annual teen talent show on Thursday, July 14 at 6 p.m. in the Schulman Auditorium at Carlsbad City Library on Dove Lane. Teens will be able to perform a song, dance or perform a piece of original material. Register by emailing email@example.com. We are excited for you to come in and use the Exploration HUB located at Dove Library!
Reserve a self-guided HUB Station to do the following:
- Digitize home movies or scan slides, negatives and photos.
- Use Adobe Creative Cloud, GameMaker Studio 2 and other apps.
- Create and cut designs for DIY projects with the Silhouette Cameo.
- Submit your original 3D design for printing on our Dremel 3D45 printer.
- Staff are onsite to provide guidance during your session.

Saturday, June 18, 1:30 – 2:30 p.m.
Learn about this open-source platform used to build electronic projects. It consists of a programmable circuit board and computer software that is used to write and upload computer code to the Arduino. No prior Arduino experience necessary. This class is for patrons ages 13 and older who have a valid library card.
Wednesday, June 22, 5:30 – 6:30 p.m.
Need advice on organizing your video footage? Using pre-selected footage of nature and camping learn how to upload files, organize them in folders and place them in the timeline for editing. This class is for patrons ages 13 and older who have a valid library card.

Each Intermediate Genealogy Class will take an in-depth look at a record group focusing on the origins of the records, the information provided by the records, their importance to genealogy research and ways to access the records both online and off. Register here to attend virtually.

The DNA Interest Group is a special interest group designed to educate and inform people about the use of DNA testing for genealogical purposes. With patience, determination and the tools needed to access available resources available through the library, tracing your amazing Scandinavians is easier than ever. Using Fold3 to Find Your Military Ancestors presented by Jennifer Warner

Whether you’re just getting started in genealogy, or need help breaking down a brick wall, you can “Ask a Genealogist” during a special one-hour appointment with qualified staff at the Georgina Cole Library. Staff will help you navigate the library’s highly regarded print and online resources to answer your specific genealogy questions. Fill out the “Ask a Genealogist” form to get started.
