Summer Reading Adventure Now – Aug. 8
Register for the all-virtual Summer Reading Adventure in Beanstack! Read and complete activities to earn a reward. This year’s theme is “Tails and Tales”. For more details, check out the all-new Summer Reading Adventure webpage. Once you earn your reward (after completing the Summer Reading Adventure), please visit the Children’s Desk at your local Carlsbad City Library location. The last day to pick up your Summer Reading Adventure rewards is Saturday, Aug. 14.
Summer Reading Adventure activities: Pet cemetery virtual bilingual adult escape room

Feeling inspired to do some family research after watching television shows such as Finding Your Roots and Who Do You Think You Are? Ancestry Library Edition can help you discover your own history with billions of records, like census data, city directories, cemeteries, wills and probates, and immigration information. Use your Carlsbad City Library card to access Ancestry Library Edition and all seven genealogy databases from home for free.

Library collection spotlight: Playaway audiobook Check out the Carlsbad City Library Playaway collection. These small, mp3 player devices are preloaded with a single book. All you have to do is provide the AAA battery and a pair of headphones (no CD player or smart phone required).
