All Carlsbad City Library locations will be closed on Monday, Jan. 17 in observation of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday.

Winter Reading Challenge January . 1 – 31, 2022 All ages
Carlsbad City Library is joining thousands of libraries and schools nationwide to participate in Beanstack’s annual Winter Reading Challenge. We challenge the Carlsbad community to collectively read for at least 100,000 minutes during the month and keep track of their reading on Beanstack.

Genealogy Services – Ask a Genealogist
Whether you’re just getting started in genealogy, or need help breaking down a brick wall, you can “Ask a Genealogist” during a special one-hour appointment with qualified staff at the Georgina Cole Library. Staff will help you navigate the library’s highly regarded print and online resources to answer your specific genealogy questions. Fill out the “Ask a Genealogist” form to get started.

Looking for the latest issues of Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine or Time Magazine? We’ve got you covered. Simply visit the Serra Digital Download Library and check out hundreds of popular magazines available through the Libby or Overdrive apps with your Carlsbad City Library card.

Looking for a new reading space?
The Carlsbad Sculpture Garden is celebrating 25 years. This year-long exhibit, now open, celebrates 10 local, regional and national artists who have been previously showcased in this natural setting. Located at 2955 Elmwood Street in Carlsbad, this outdoor gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
