We’re Halfway Through the Winter Reading Challenge
Readers of all ages are participating in the Carlsbad City Library Winter Reading Challenge this month with a community goal of 115,382 minutes. This year’s theme, “All the Feels,” encourages readers to look to the future and experience how reading refreshes our emotions. You still have plenty of time to register and read to earn emoji-themed badges and a stress ball reward while supplies last. Join your friends and neighbors who are already participating in the challenge and log your reading to help us reach our goal!

Register for the challenge and track your reading on our Beanstack site at carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or on the Beanstack mobile app. Here’s how it works:
- Register – Visit carlsbadlibrary.beanstack.org or use the Beanstack Tracker app for Android or iOS. Log into your account, or create one if you are a new reader. Sign up for the Winter Reading Challenge and select your appropriate age or grade.
- Record – Read and track minutes to earn badges. Track your progress in Beanstack.
- Reward – Earn reading rewards while supplies last. Read 240 minutes to earn an emoji stress ball for all ages! Visit your local Carlsbad City Library location to pick up your reward; last day to pick up is Feb. 7.

Join us in the Schulman Auditorium at the Dove Library on Jan. 21 at 2:00 p.m. for an inspirational author discussion with Beth Thorp, author of ANEW Creation: Finding Meaning in the Midst of Tragedy. ANEW
Creation is an inspirational story about love, faith, perseverance, family, courage, community, forgiveness, God’s grace, and restoration.
Book signing to follow after the conclusion of the discussion. We hope to see you there!
