THE ARTS CELEBRATE CREATIVITY AND LOVE

February places love centerstage with Valentines exchanged and platitudes of romance everywhere. It’s also Black History Month. We celebrate both this month with concerts and films representing creativity as a universal constant. Just like love! So, what’s your favorite love song? If you ask a dozen friends or colleagues, you’ll probably get at least two dozen different song titles. (I tried and that’s what happened.) What’s even more interesting is a request for a favorite song often evokes a vivid recollection from the respondent. That’s what the arts do! They evoke emotions and stir memories. So, why not make new memories this month with Cultural Arts? This e-news, the first of two, offers opportunities to create those new memories. Who knows it might even lead to a new love connection? And that makes Cupid very happy…especially in February! Richard Schultz, Cultural Arts Manager

Clyde’s mural is part of the Cultural Arts’ Pop Up Art series, which features temporary art installations throughout the city to enliven the community, spark conversations and connect local businesses with creative placemaking while supporting economic vitality through The Arts: Everyday, Everywhere.
