Bonsall, CA –Two years ago, Wild Wonders had to say “goodbye” to their beloved cheetah Victor. Victor was the first cheetah to call Wild Wonders his forever home and served as a great ambassador for cheetah conservation.

Victor, “our polka dot price”, inspired hundreds of people to care about the plight of his wild cousins and raised thousands of dollars to support those efforts. He was an ambassador in every sense of the word. Victor enamored and charmed all who met him.
Cheetah Outreach Trust is an outstanding organization in South Africa focused on the front lines of cheetah conservation. One extremely successful program they sponsor is the “Livestock Guard Dog” program. Anatolian Shepherds are raised, trained, and given to farmers to assist in protecting his livestock from cheetahs and other animals. While these large dogs drive cheetahs to look elsewhere for food, it protects cheetahs from dangerous and often fatal encounters with angry farmers.
Continuing Vic’s cheetah conservation legacy is Victor the guard dog.

Named after Victor from Wild Wonders, the dog Victor is shown above with his new owner Charlie Given, a farmer in the Kalahari with a herd of goats. Cheetah Outreach Trust will work with Charlie and Victor to ensure a successful transition and placement.
We couldn’t be more proud.
