Children’s Shoe Drive in VistaNational Shoe the World Day

March 15, 2024200 Civic Center Drive, Vista CA 92083

Pledge to Donate Here

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

Kids grow through shoes fast, and economically disadvantaged families often struggle to purchase shoes. Families are faced with difficult circumstances as financial hardships take their toll. If a family is experiencing a crisis like domestic violence, homelessness, or being the victim of a crime, children may be displaced without proper footwear. Deputy Mayor Katie Melendez is coordinating with local service organizations, including The Soroptimists International Vista, to secure maximum donations for our shoe recipients.

March 15 is “National Shoe The World Day,” we will collect shoes and plan shoe drives throughout the Vista community. You can help provide adequate footwear for kids in need by donating the following:

Sizes Needed

  • Baby shoes, sizes 0-5
  • Small kid shoes, sizes 6-13
  • Big kid shoes, sizes 1-6
  • Children’s socks of all sizes
  • Adult shoes in select sizes, by request only

Tips for donating

  • Functional shoes are preferred over ornamental shoes
  • Closed-toe and athletic shoes are preferred over open-toe shoes and sandals
  • New shoes are preferred, but gently used shoes are acceptable

Donations will be collected on March 15, 2024, at the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive. Donations will also be coordinated in collaboration with the Soroptimists International of Vista and North County Inland.

Sincerely,

Deputy Mayor Katie Melendez
