Over the Moon for Moving Their Talents to Vista
Moonry Collective and its team of eight women have recharted their professional paths by investing in themselves, each other and their hometown of Vista. Christine Alvarado, owner and buyer of Moonry Collective, explained that after most were forced to look for new jobs when their current spa closed in response to COVID-19, they were inspired to come together and find a new way forward. Soon to celebrate its one-year anniversary in November, Moonry’s name is a nod to female entrepreneurship and reinvention, two themes that imbue the business’ décor, vibe, services and gift shop. Read More

City to Offer Free Cybersecurity Program for Vista Small Businesses
The City of Vista and the San Diego Cyber Center of Excellence (SDCCOE) have partnered to offer a free cyber awareness and security education program that will be available to all Vista small businesses with fewer than 100 employees. The virtual program begins in January 2022 and lasts for 90 days. The program educates small businesses about how to protect themselves from cyber-attacks, hacks, network weaknesses and more.Read More

The City of Vista in partnership with Strategies 360 is offering a free business assistance program to provide small businesses lessons on how to grow and expand their business, from identifying new customers, improving your online and social media presence and more.Read More

California Competes Tax Credit Program The California Competes Tax Credit (CCTC) is an income tax credit available to businesses that want to locate in California or stay and grow in California. Businesses of any industry, size, or location compete for over $180 million available in tax credits by applying in one of the three application periods each year. For fiscal year 2021-2022, GO-Biz will accept applications for the California Competes Tax Credit during the following periods:

  • January 3, 2022 – January 24, 2022
  • March 7, 2022 – March 28, 2022

Prior to each application period, GO-Biz hosts online webinars about the California Competes Tax Credit program. All businesses are encouraged to participate and view the GoBiz webinars to receive instructions on how to apply. San Diego North Economic Development Council (SDNEDC) can also assist with applications and connecting North County businesses with the right resources so as to increase their potential to win one of the awards.Read More

Civic Center Temporarily Closed January 10 through January 31, 2022
The Vista Civic Center will temporarily close to the public January 10 through January 31, 2022 to mitigate exposure to COVID-19 with the recent rise of the Omicron variant. City staff will still be available via telephone, email, and limited appointments during business hours. The health and safety of the Vista community is a top priority and the City will continue to serve the public remotely during this time.To Learn More
