Following the retirement of Kevin Ham, the City of Vista welcomed a new Economic Development Director, Larry Vaupel, on March 30. Mr. Vaupel brings more than 25 years of local government experience to the job.
|PASEO SANTA FE PROJECT RECEIVES AWARD|
The City’s Paseo Santa Fe Streetscape Improvement Project has been awarded the prestigious 2022 Outstanding Sustainable Engineering Project award by the San Diego Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
|Fourth Booster Dose Available for ages 50+|
The second COVID-19 Pfizer or Moderna booster shot is available locally for eligible adults 50 years of age and older. The San Diego County region has plenty of vaccines and booster doses, which are available at pharmacies, medical providers, clinics, and County locations.
|City Receives Favorable Financial Ratings|
Fitch Ratings, a credit rating agency, has affirmed the City’s financial status. This is due to how the city positioned itself well to address adverse effects from the pandemic through a combination of strong reserve levels and prompt budget management.
|Culture Caravan’s Seal Tour San Diego, April 12|
The Senior Center’s Culture Caravan offers a variety of one-day excursions. Register for the April 12 San Diego fully narrated Seal Tour excursion, which includes a cruise through San Diego Bay.
|Moonlight’s Spring Concerts in April|
The Moonlight returns outdoors and rolls out two concerts this month. Experience tributes to James Taylor and Carole King on April 22, then get ready to relive the 70s with a tribute to the Bee Gees on April 23.
|Live Music at Vista Library on April 6|
For over 30 years, guitar/vocalist Roger Taylor has delighted audiences performing old-time rock ‘n’ roll, jazz, country, and original songs. Taylor will perform free at the Vista Library on April 6 at 2:30 pm.
|Register for Creek to Bay Cleanup on April 23|
Registration is open for the annual Creek to Bay Cleanup on April 23. The City’s site is at the Hacienda biological preserve, accessed by Buena Creek Trail off of Hacienda Drive. There’s also a self-led option.
