Mayor John Franklin has released the City’s Year-in-Review for 2022, which includes an update on progress towards addressing homelessness, a recap of City services and events, and information on Vista’s finances. The Mayor takes viewers to Operation Hope shelter, Haro Bikes in the business park, CoLab, and Paseo Artist Village.

60th Anniversary Kickoff Reception
The City Council will kick off Vista’s 60th Anniversary Year with a reception offering cake and refreshments from 4:30 pm to 5:30 pm outside Council Chambers at the Civic Center on January 24. The Council invites the public to attend to help wish Vista a Happy 60th!
Volunteers Sought for City Commissions, Committees, and Boards
The City is seeking applicants for Commissions, Committees, and Boards. Whether you are a business owner in the business improvement district, a frequent user of the City’s parks and recreation programs, a senior looking to get involved, or have an interest in safety or traffic issues, there is a Commission, Committee, or Board for you. A list of upcoming vacancies, descriptions of each of the bodies, and the application forms are available on the City’s website: Boards and Commissions. Applications are due February 13. Spring 2023 Leadership Academy Now Registering
Do you want to learn about how the City functions, hear about what is new and meet with City staff? Then sign up to take part in the Spring 2023 Vista Leadership Academy. Vista residents (18 years and older) and business owners are eligible for this free eight-week program. Academy sessions are held on Wednesday evenings from 5:00 pm–7:00 pm (except for one session at lunchtime) starting February 22 and running through April 25 (no session on March 29). Graduates will be recognized at the April 25 City Council meeting. To register, send your completed application to kvaldez@cityofvista.com. Vista Sheriff’s Coffee with the Community
