City Council to Receive Updates on Goals During Workshop Meeting Tomorrow

The City Council will receive updates on 2022-2024 goals at a workshop on Tuesday, March 7 at 2 pm in Council Chambers at the Vista Civic Center, 200 Civic Center Drive. Every two years, the City Council conducts a goal-setting workshop to determine the City’s high-priority goals, which are then reflected in the City’s Operational and Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) budgets. Every six months, staff provide an update on activities that align with City Council goals.

Also on the agenda is the approval of the contract for Vista’s next City Manager, John Conley; and an overview of budget preparation for fiscal years 2023/24 and 2024/25. READ THE AGENDA

Fill the Boot Campaign This Thursday

Vista Firefighters will be staffing the intersection of Vista Village Drive and Santa Fe Avenue on Thursday, March 9, between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., to help firefighters from across the county raise money for the San Diego Burn Institute. Each year, firefighters come together at intersections in their communities to collect cash donations from motorists who help to “fill the boot.”

All the monies collected go directly to the Burn Institute to fund its programs and services, most notably “Camp Beyond the Scars,” a camp for burn survivors between the ages of 8-17.

The Vista Firefighters are always amazed at the generosity of the community. They look forward to meeting residents Thursday morning. Grab your coffee, buckle up the kids, and swing by on the way to work or school drop-off.

Change Your Clocks – Change Your Batteries

It’s time to spring forward! As long as you’re changing your clocks this upcoming weekend, the Vista Fire Department recommends checking your smoke and carbon monoxide detectors around your home. Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday, March 12 at 2 am.
