Input Sought on Street Lighting
The City of Vista is undertaking a street lighting assessment as part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing public safety. The assessment encompasses an in-depth review of the City’s current inventory of approximately 4,200 streetlights scattered throughout the city.
Around 200 locations in Vista have been identified for installing new streetlights or upgrading existing fixtures on current poles. These enhancements aim to address areas where better lighting might deter criminal activity, reduce accidents, and generally improve nighttime visibility for residents.
Previous input from residents, City Council, and City staff regarding improved street lighting has produced an initial assessment addressing improvements in four areas of Vista (maps are below). However, the City welcomes input on street lighting from all city areas to be considered for Phase 4 of the project.
By emailing us, residents are encouraged to provide feedback and highlight areas they believe would benefit from better street lighting. Input is due September 30, 2023.
