Greg Mayer Promoted to Engineering Director at the City of Vista

The City of Vista is pleased to announce the promotion of Greg Mayer, P.E., to Engineering Director, effective November 6, 2023. Following interviews and the unanimous recommendation from stakeholder groups comprising community members, City leadership, and staff, City Manager John Conley selected Mayer for the position.

Mayer has served the City of Vista for the past 15.5 years and has held the title Acting Engineering Director since March 15, 2023. Previously, he held the positions of Principal Engineer and City Engineer at the City of Vista. The position of Engineering Director has been open since March 2023, when John Conley was promoted to City Manager. READ THE PRESS RELEASE

Pala Vista Park Grand Opening

Join us for the grand opening celebration of the City’s 18th park on Saturday, December 16, from 10 am to noon. Situated at 240 Pala Vista Drive, this neighborhood park is set to offer recreational amenities for our nearby residents and greatly enhance the gateway entrance to Vista from Highway 78. Food Drive for Vista Teen Outreach’s Food Pantry

VCC’s dedication to excellence has earned the organization the prestigious Gold Health Center Quality Leader badge from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) and six Blue Shield Promise Leading the Way Awards for Quality Health Care.

The HRSA Community Health Quality Recognition (CHQR) Badge program recognizes health centers’ exceptional contributions to improving healthcare access, quality, health equity, health information technology, and COVID-19 public health emergency response. The Gold Health Center Quality Leader badge is a distinction that ranks the clinic in the top 10% of health centers nationwide for enhancing health outcomes and providing high-quality care, particularly for underserved communities. VCC is the sole clinic in San Diego to receive this prestigious award.

Volunteers Sought for Upcoming Point in Time Count

The Point in Time Count serves the vital purpose of gathering data about the needs of individuals facing homelessness. This federally mandated initiative plays a pivotal role as the primary data source used by the federal government to allocate funding for addressing homelessness. The 2024 count is set to take place on January 25, 2024, during two shifts: from 4 am to 8 am (morning shifts) and from 6:30 pm to 9 pm (safe parking shifts).
